OVERVIEW
DENSE, UNIFORM, SQUARE BALES, EVERY TIME
With each perfectly shaped large square bale they turn out, the New Holland BB9000 Series large square balers demonstrate superior design and durability. They gather the widest windrows, fill every corner and build dense, consistent bales day after day, year after year. These balers are packed with features that make them great to use and easy to maintain. |
PICKUP SUPERSWEEP™ PICKUP GRABS EVERY BIT OF CROP New Holland SuperSweep™ pickups gather up the smallest hay leaf and the shortest piece of straw. Proven features like curved tines, close tine spacing, and efficient windguard and pneumatic gauge wheels help sweep fields clean at high speed. |
HIGH-CAPACITY WORKING WIDTH
Widths ranging from 78 to 94.5 inches, depending on the model, enable the pickup to take in all the crop, end to end, from the widest swaths and windrows. |
THE RIGHT TINE DESIGN
Curved, closely spaced tines gather the entire windrow-even the short, fine hay that other pickups miss. Curved tine guards and the plate-style windguard help keep crop moving smoothly. |
SIMPLE HEIGHT AND FLOTATION ADJUSTMENT
Multi-position sliding collars allow for easy adjustment of pickup height. A flotation spring provides tool-free adjustment of the SuperSweep™ pickup, which enables it to float over obstacles in the field. |
FULLY ADJUSTABLE GAUGE WHEELS
Sweep uneven fields at high speed, and don't miss any crop, thanks to heavy-duty gauge wheels that keep the pickup low to the ground. They are also fully adjustable without tools. |
CROPCUTTER™ FEEDING SYSTEM CROPCUTTER™ SYSTEMS OFFER IDEAL CHOP LENGHT Equip a BB9000 large square baler with one of two New Holland CropCutter feeding systems-the Packer Cutter or the Rotor Cutter. Both slice the crop as it's fed into the baler, producing more tightly packed, heavier bales. The Packer Cutter is controlled from the tractor seat and is available only on the BB9060. The Rotor Cutter offers the widest range of chop lengths to fit any crop or feed needs.
|
BENEFITS OF SHORTER PARTICLE LENGTH
Chopping the crop before it's baled results in better fermentation in silage bales due to less air in the bale and more anaerobic bacteria. Smaller pieces also help maximize crop compaction. Straw bales are easier to spread for bedding and shorter particles are more absorbent. |
PACKER CUTTER IS SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE
The Packer Cutter, available only on the BB9060, uses three packer forks and six double tines to feed the crop-hay, silage or straw-through a set of serrated knives and into the precompression chamber. Use two to six knives for chop lengths from 4.5 to 10 inches. Engage and disengage cutter functions from the tractor seat. |
ROTOR CUTTER DELIVERS RANGE OF CHOP LENGTHS
With the widest range of chop lengths, the Rotor Cutter system can meet the feeding needs of any operation. Available on both the BB9060 and BB9080, it uses a massive W-pattern rotor with a bank of knives to cut the crop and move it evenly to the precompression chamber.
• 17 knives on the BB9080 produce cut lengths down to 3.1 inches.
• 23 knives on the BB9060 cut particles down to 1.5 inches. |
HARDENED KNIVES IMPROVE DURABILITY
Hardened knives are standard with the Rotor Cutter system and available as a dealer-installed option on the Packer Cutter BB9060 model. They extend the life of the knives in crops that are tough to cut and can increase the sharpening interval by up to three times. The knives on the Rotor Cutter are held in a drawer that slides out for easy inspection and sharpening |
PRECOMPRESSION SYSTEM CROP PACKAGING AT ITS BEST
The BB9000 Series large square balers swiftly move large volumes of crop from the pickup to the bale chamber through an efficient precompression chamber. Each time the chamber is filled, it creates an equal slice of the bale being formed, for overall consistency in length and shape. |
FAST CROP TRANSFER
Moving crop efficiently from the pickup to the bale chamber happens in three rapid steps:
1. Packer forks or rotor cutters feed the crop from the pickup to the precompression chamber.
2. Trip sensing fingers at the base of the chamber indicate when the preset density is reached.
3. Stuffer forks lift the crop from the precompression chamber into the bale chamber. |
SQUARE, EQUALLY FILLED CORNERS
To ensure even crop distribution as the bales are formed, New Holland has fine-tuned the process. As the stuffer fork moves the precompressed crop into the bale chamber, the speed is increased to force crop upward and perfectly fill each top corner of the bale, whether it's made from hay, silage or straw. |
RAPID PLUNGER PACKS DENSE BALES
The heavy-duty BB9000 plunger delivers 42 strokes per minute. Combine that power with the constant monitoring of the three-way density control system for perfectly square, solid bales that keep their integrity even after long storage and extensive handling. |
EASY TO ADJUST BALE SHAPE AND DENSITY
Adjust bale shape and density without tools. A simple spring-loaded handle controls the amount of hay compressed into each slice that's delivered to the bale chamber. |
KNOTTERS REPUTATION FOR RELIABLE TYING
The The New Holland double-knotter system is proven reliable, delivering higher bale density, lower knotter strain and consistent knotting. A design that places twine closer to the edge of the bale than competitive brand bales improves stacking and appearance. Knotters are driven by fully enclosed gearboxes for a long working life. |
DOUBLE-KNOT ADVANTAGE
Two twines fed to each knotter make a final knot for the completed bale and a starting knot for the next one. Four knotters on the three-foot-wide models and six knotters on the four-foot-wide models maintain bale integrity even with high-density bales. |
FANS ENSURE CLEAR TYING
Keeping knotters clean makes them more efficient. Two fans on the BB9060 and three on the BB9080 provide a blast of air to keep the tying area clear of dust, chaff and twine tails that can cause miss ties. Additional shielding also improves airflow and fan efficiency. |
NO STRAIN ON TWINE OR KNOTTERS
With the double-knotter system, there is virtually no strain on the twine and knotter components during bale formation, which allows for higher bale densities. With two twine feed positions, the twines no longer slide over the bale surface while the crop is being pushed through the bale chamber, and that extends knotter life and improves reliability of the process. |
PLENTY OF TWINE STORAGE Store up to 30 twine balls in the dustproof twine box on the side of the baler-enough to continuously make bales even on the longest work day. |
ELECTRONIC BALE CONTROLLER INFORMATION TO MAKE ADJUSTMENT ON-THE-GO Know what's going on inside and around the baler, at every moment, with state-of-the-art information monitoring systems. BB9000 large square balers are ready to operate with any ISOBUS-compatible tractor, and New Holland offers two monitor choices-the black and white InfoView® II display or the top-of-the-line IntelliView™ III touch screen color monitor. |
BALE-MAKING ESSENTIALS FROM INFOVIEW® II
Monitor the complete bale-making process with the InfoView II monitor. It provides a wealth of information and controls to manage the whole baling process from the tractor seat. It offers easy access to density adjustment, knotter performance, bale counts, service history and much more. |
ADVANTAGES OF INTELLIVIEW™ III
With all the same data functions as the InfoView II, the state-of-the-art IntelliView III offers easy-to-navigate touch-screen convenience and a color monitor. Link it to an optional rearview camera for visibility at the back of the baler. This monitor also can be used with other New Holland equipment. |
OPTIONS FOR TRACKING BALE MEASUREMENTS
Several handy dealer-installed options can provide even more monitoring capabilities: An electronic measuring system tracks exact bale length and monitors average flake size. A bale-weighing system offers on-the-go convenience and delivers accuracy of +/-2%. A moisture sensing system helps make precise additive applications. |
EASY WAY TO PRESERVE HAY
CropSaver™ is a safe, effective solution for preserving all types of hay, including alfalfa and grass. When treated with CropSaver, hay can be baled at moistures up to 26% without worry of heating or mold damage. It also helps to maintain hay's fresh smell and green color. Two applicator control systems-manual and fully automatic-are available for the BB9000 Series balers |
EJECTION AND BALE PLACEMENT SMOOTH EJECTION, TIME-SAVING GROUPING What comes out of the back of the baler is the ultimate measure of quality. With the BB9000 Series, bales emerge and eject easily, soundly and consistently. An integrated bale accumulator, available on all models, groups bales into a package that is more efficient to handle by saving time and fuel. |
FULL AND PARTIAL BALE-EJECT® SYSTEM
At the end of the day, the standard Bale-Eject system fully clears the bale chamber of any remaining crop. A dedicated control lever at the rear of the baler hydraulically engages two rails at the bottom of the bale chamber to eject the entire bale completely. Or use the partial Bale-Eject system to keep a number of flakes inside the bale chamber to start off the next bale faster. |
CONVENIENT ROLLER BALE CHUTE
Standard on all models, the roller bale chute provides smooth ejection. The last two rollers are mounted on heavy-duty bearings and the side supports are designed for long life. |
ACCUMULATOR IMPROVES EFFICIENCY
Grouping bales in the field saves time and fuel. The integrated bale accumulator, available on all BB9000 Series models, handles both haylage and dry hay bales ranging from 4.5 to 9 feet long. Set it in one of four automatic dump patterns to group bales by twos, threes or fours. Control the accumulator with either the InfoView® II or IntelliView™ III monitors. |
MAINTENANCE RUGGED CONSTRUCTION, SIMPLED MAINTENANCE
The BB9000 Series balers are built for the long haul, down to the durable, one-piece frame. Sturdier gearboxes and automatic oiling and greasing systems are key features that improve reliability and simplify maintenance. |
STURDIER GEARBOXES
Gearboxes are used for all main drivelines on BB9000 balers, which results in increased reliability and lower maintenance requirements. |
AXLE OPTIONS TO FIT THE TERRAIN
Both single and tandem axles are available on the BB9000 Series. The large-diameter tires mounted on single axle units provide greatest flotation, while the tandem axle reduces vertical baler movement, and provides the best ride. Tandem axles also come with Auto-Steer™, which allows the tires to follow the driving direction of the turn to eliminate field damage. |
SLIM HITCH FOR TIGHT TURNS
The straight driveline arrangement of the drawbar and the narrower overall tongue construction on these balers results in a 5% improvement in turning radius on headlands. |
AUTOMATIC OILING AND GREASING
Standard automatic oiling and centralized greasing systems keep all chains oiled and major grease points lubricated for increased reliability and reduced maintenance. Both systems are controlled from the monitor in the cab. |
HANDY MAINTENANCE FEATURES
Plenty of other features have been added to make maintenance fast and easy,
including:
• Large, sealed storage container for twine and tools
• Knotter access ladder
• Site gauge on density system hydraulic oil tank
• Site gauges on knotter and stuffer gearbox oil tanks. |
